EP 4: Traumatized
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
It's just a normal day, where I'm laying at the sofa in the living room , both my legs crossed each other, it's gloomy outside and the cold breeze started to get in, and this is the time for me to continue reading my novel. You know it's a good book when you forget that you were reading.
Then suddenly, someone called, I read the name and it's was "My Dad". I quickly pick up the phone, and clear my throats before I started talking, "Abati.." I called, Abati is an Arabic name I called my dad which equally means My Dad. Then no sound at all. I called again "Abati..can you hear me?".
Then my dad didn't answered just the noise sound I don't even know what it is. Then I end the call. Then I saw the call notification from my screen, this time, my dad call through our family Whatsapp group. I adjust my position from lazily laying to sitting up properly to prepare for any news from my dad. but long story short, my dad just called because he want to ask help from us to key in some data on excel for a trip budgeting. Now I release the tension plus the trauma from my heart and feel completely calm.
Do you know the time where you get traumatized by something and you didn't want it to happen again. never. Last year, March 2022, my dad was diagnosed with a sudden stroke which made him need to stay in the emergency room and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for days. He had that stroke when he was working at Terengganu, and we all at Johor Bahru at that time. The first message he sent was "To My Beloved wife and children, I apologize for all the mistakes I made, please pray for me for the best, the doctor said that I was diagnosed with a sudden stroke and need to be intubated right know, or the condition will be worse." My jaws dropped when reading that message, and you know what, after several hours, my father called us through Whatsapp group, the screen shows him in the ICU with all the wires in his chest, and he's wearing an oxygen mask because he barely can't breath at the moment. His voice was faded, that make us can't even understand what he want to deliver. I saw my sister cry, I cry, all of us were crying. It's because we're so scared that our father will leave us, and we didn't even have enough time to recover from the death of our family members due to covid-19 in 2021.
But Alhamdulillah, Allah gives my father another chance to live in this world, to stay with us, to be our one and only dad. There's a bunch of amazing stories, with ups and downs and we never expect we'll going to stay at Terengganu, stay by my dad side, taking care of him at the hospital, changing our shifts, our very first Ramadhan & Eid Celebration and we were so blessed to met a lot of kind people during our one month stay in Terengganu. They helped us a lot, I want to thanks all these beautiful souls, the aunties and uncles, the doctors and nurses, the akak and abang, literally all people that we met. If I was about to write a story about our one month stay in Terengganu, it will take a lot of series. I think the more I write, the shorter the story. You guys know why I share my stories through this fage because I will come back again when I become granny to read back this diary. xoxo, dearest people!
